Guest guest
Hi, I'm hoping for a bit of advice. I've seen a couple of counselors in the past, one actually introducing me to the concept of BPD and another one suggesting it as well, but....I don't really know how to find a counselor who might specialize more in that kind of thing...or even if that really exists. I just moved to a new area, on the opposite side of the country from my mother, and I need to start seeing someone. I'm messing my life up and I can't seem to stop myself. Any suggestions for how to find a good counselor? Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
The Psychology Today website has an excellent search function for finding therapists according to location, insurance plans and specialty. I found my current therapist using that website and she is experienced in BPD and also took my health insurance. I specifically wanted someone who had dealt with BPD issues and was able to find several in my area but she accepted my health insurance so I went with her and it has worked out well for me. Good Luck in your search. Tracey
