Guest guest
First, I'd like to apologize for not participating in a while. I just needed to completely free myself from all things related to BPD for a while. Reading all of these posts I find many situations are IDENTICAL to mine and when I would read various posts I would just re-live my own trauma which I desperately needed to free myself from. Please bear with me as I go into rewind mode to give you all the entire story. Last August, 2011 my youngest daughter left home here in land and moved into her dorm at WVU where she received a full ride and majoring in industrial engineering. She had a move in date for the 2nd week in August since she made the cheer squad there. (She is actually on a cheerleading scholarship ...her older sister cheers for the Ravens here in Baltimore) Anyway, we went took her out there and spent the next day sightseeing. We didn't get to do HALF of what we wanted to do and hubby has some vacation time so we returned the last week in August for the week. We wanted to see her cheer for her first college game and we also wanted to be in town on the 30th to celebrate her 18th birthday...and yes....finish up the sightseeing we didn't have time for during our first trip. With both kids out of the nest we decided that this was the PERFECT time to have the bedrooms and living and dining rooms re-painted so we packed up our gigantic bedroom into cardboard boxes and moved them to a different part of the house. We shared a yard with NAda and fada ....yes...we lived NEXT DOOR. So they were the obvious choice to watch the house, our animals and allow the painter in and out and oh btw we saw something on the news about a potential storm so keep an eye on the place in case of flooding. We placed the emergency pump up, ran the hose, and showed them which switch to flip should water begin to creep into our house. Well, that storm?...yeah, that turned out to be hurricane Irene. We left on a Wednesday, the storm hit Friday and sure enough the house flooded. We came home the following Wednesday to 3 feet of water in our home. Everything was lost...even all of our clothes because it sat in the boxes SOAKING in the flood water. Oh.....and my animals? An hour after we left she let our dog out and NEVER checked on our two cats. Luckily a neighbor took in our dog but with the house being under 3 feet of water they had no access to food, clean water or their litterbox. When we came home they were nearly dead. Nada and fada's excuse? " We decided we didn't feel like helping afterall...besides all you own is junk anyway. Throw it out. When you heard it was a hurricane you should have come home so it's your own fault! " Furious doesn't even cover it. I am actually a little ashamed to admit that I actually took the gas can out of our garage and planned on burning their house down. Looking back I'm glad my husband stopped me. Well that was it...the last straw. After we pumped all the water out we just found that black mold had infiltrated all of our walls. FINALLY....we collected a whole $5,000 from the insurance company and got the hell out of dodge. We did reluctantly spend a very drama filled Thanksgiving and Christmas there but that was it. My oldest daughter never even received a call from them ehens -- Kisses and Nibbles, Bunny
