Guest guest
As I pick up the crumbled wreckage that was nada's brief life, she was only 69, I am faced with so many absurdities that it makes me weep. For example, in her will she disowned friends and family leaving all her money to the SPCA. However, she made no provisions for her own cats. Thus, these two poor frightened little things were taken to a local shelter. The executor of her will did nothing to help them. I drove two and a half hours to rescue them the day after I was contacted by the Public Administrator's office. The executor, nada's investment manager, had failed to contact anyone in the family. Eventually County stepped in as the jerk had even failed to make arrangement for her cremation and her body was still in the morge! Nada had formerly made lavish provisions in her will for her beloved pets as such is allowed in California. She even requested that her ashes be mixed with the ashes of former pets before all the ashes were spread at sea. I couldn't understand why she had left these cats out of her will. They are absolutely beautiful but very shy, as if they have had almost no contact with humans whatsoever. In fact, even the neighbors were shocked to learn that she had them. No one had ever seen these cats before. This afternoon the little Light Bulb finally lit. Not only was mother BPD with people, she was BPD with her animals as well! She had been very controlling with former pets. They were never out of her sight and required to do as she wished on command (exactly what she expected of her human family as well). While the two little cats I've rescued are so beautiful that they could be featured on the cover of Cat Fancy, they are not affectionate. Nada would have been upset by that. She would have been dismayed that their long hair so often catches bits of cat litter. I'm sweeping so frequently that my vaccuum is going to file a grivence with the National Union of Household Appliances due to extended working hours! Nada would have believe theses were doing it on purpose to spite her and show her they were rejecting her. No wonder it's taking these poor little things so long to form trusting relationships! All they have known was being resented! MB
