Kristy Kristy, do you have specific concerns about the Lyrica? If so, would you mind sharing? I'd really like to try it, but it will be too expensive for me due to my Insurance. Did you use the Neurontin with elavil or nortriptyline? Hugs, Chelle
Guest guest
Chelle, The main concern I have about the Lyrica is that it won't work. I've heard others also say that it won't work for them. My secondary concerns are that of the issue of weight gain which I already have a prbolem with as well as drowsiness. And when I did the Neurontin, no antidepressants were included. I was given an anti-inflammatory at the time along with it. I can't take antidepressants. The 3rd concern possibly would be the issue of cost as well, but I would check with my insurance company just for curiosity sake. Just hope that the Pain Management doctor doesn't bring up Lyrica again. The meds I'm on now work for me to take care of my pain issues even the nerve one even though the one medicine from my rheumatologist is more for the fibro: the muscle relaxer. The max daily dose is apparently 600mg, split into 2 equal doses. Kay
Guest guest
Neurontin made me gain 15 lbs PLUS it didn't help at all. However, my pain (as I've discovered) had more to do with yeast infections/bacterial vaginosis plus the irritation of the muscles, so I'm not the type of patient where there is nothing going on and the pain is a huge mystery. It just took a decent doctor to do the right tests to see that I had some recurrent infections. Lindsey Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
