I had a biopsy done today where the doctor snipped off a piece of the

hymen. Has anyone had this done? The tissue has been completely white,

swollen and extremely painful for 6 months. Does anyone else here

with vulvar vestibulitis have white swollen tissue? The doctor is not

sure if it is VV or cancer or what,I have to wait two weeks for the

biopsy results, which makes me extremely nervous.

Doctors get all nervous about white skin in this area

as it can be cancer and they practically always order

a biopsy.

I had a lot of white vulvar and an anal skin and had

12 biopsies at the same time. They diagnosed Lichen

Sclerosis as LS is characterized by whitened thickened

skin. (It wasn't). I told them at the time it was

yeast. It was and it didn't go away until I was on

diflucan a long time.

I hope your isn't cancer, probably isn't. If you have

had a lot of candida yeast you might consider that is

what it is whether or not they biopsy it as such. The

biopsies are often wrong. Often they just say it is

inflammation. Sometimes it is much ado about nothing

as is the diagnosis.

Best Wishes,

Arline

Hey lulubuns, I was going to mention what Arline did -- Lichen Sclerosis. --I don't really have any info, but I hope you get good results from the biopsy. If you don't get anymore replies, you could try re-posting in a few days, you just never know who is on here from day to day. Best wishes to you... Hugs, Chelle
