I am scheduled for a vulvar biopsy in about 2 hrs. and am petrified! Has anyone had the biopsy and possibly be able to give me some encouraging words. Hi! Have infections been ruled out for sure? If so, by chance are you perimenopausal or menopausal? I had terrible burning with my vulvar skin until I began to use topical Estrogen cream (Estrace). I began using it at age 32 because I knew I had hormonal issues. It's not the same for everyone, but burning and even itching (due to dryness) can occur and cause vulvar symptoms. Just thought I'd throw out a few things here... Hugs, Chelle
Guest guest
I've had several vulva biopsies in the last few years. They've been done in the office. The needle to numb stings a little and there is a little discomfort, but it's usually over in just a minute or two and not bad afterwards. In fact, my onc/gyn is out of town and I've gone shopping right after each one. A little discomfort, but nothing bad. People are different and their pain tolerances are different, but my experience was not bad. I don't consider it any worse than the numbing shot from the dentist. And afterwards is just a little uncomfortable for a few days until it heals. Hope this helps. vulvar biopsy Hello! I have been having itching/burning for almost 7 months now. I am scheduled for a vulvar biopsy in about 2 hrs. and am petrified! Has anyone had the biopsy and possibly be able to give me some encouraging words. I'm afraid that I'm going to chicken out before my appointment!
Guest guest
Thanks for the words of encouragement! Only 1 more hour to go before I leave for the appointment. I really hope that it doesn't make things much worse down there! Thanks for your prompt reply! > > I've had several vulva biopsies in the last few years. They've been done in the office. Guest guest
Hi! My name is O'Neal and I am 28 from the Atlanta area. I found out I had " issues " soon after my marriage in April of 2006. After many doctor visits, several infections and 2 years later, I finally feel like IO am getting somewhere. I have vulvodynia as well as pelvic muscle floor spasms. I found a great gyno who I found in January and she has been so helpful. I just had a vulvar biopsy yesterday and it was pretty painful. I was on percocet every four hours, but now I am at school (I am a kindregarten teacher) and can only take ibuprofen. Can anyone give me some advice as to pain management? I am icing when I can and taking meds. How long is the recovery time, and should I attempt PT Friday? Thanks-I have been reading a lot of the messages and it is good to know I am not alone. Have a great day! O
