Guest guest
I have just started going to PT therapy like nne described, and the skin rolling was very painful for me, but I'm willing to do it if it will take away the burning pain in the long run and allow me to have sex. I have two questions, though - 1) Does it really work?2) Are there PTs that are covered by insurance who do this kind of work? It is very expensive - $200 for each session - and before I use all my savings I want to make sure there's not a better alternative. thanks for your help! Guest guest
Hi , skin rolling is very painful but can be very beneficial and productive. The fact that you found it painful can be very informative. I don't have access to a PT in my area who is updated in the latest techniques, so my husband and I drove to Chicago to see Rhonda Kotarinos last fall. I call her the "Bionic Woman" - I ended up bruised from my visits with her. I saw her for 3 - two hour a day sessions while my husband filmed them. He learned everything he could and works on me at home. Many women these days have truly improved through PT for vulvar pain. I know it's so tough where all of this gets so expensive, but learn what you can, and you can work on yourself at home, too. Do you have anyone that could help you? Hang in there....Hugs, Chelle PS - The skin rolling will hurt less and less the more it's done and the tissue isn't so restricted anymore. Guest guest
, PT helped me more than anything else and is the reason I am able to have sex without pain, and am pregnant! You should join the Happy Pelvis yahoo group, they are all about pelvic PT and have tons of good stories. My PT costs $130 a session. I have a PPO insurance, so I submit the claims and get reimbursed for part of that. There is another PT a little further away from that takes insurance, but most of them don't. If you go to a good one, who is trained in the right techniques, it will probably work. It helps if you have someone that can do stuff on you at home too - really successful people work at home with spouses/partners to get better faster.
