The next time your doctor quotes statistics to you, ask him if he can tell you the name of the study where this information came from. Tell him you want to share it with your on-line PSC group. He probably won't be able to name the study, but it "might" get him/her to think about it a little more. It "might" even cause him (in his spare time) to surf the internet a little, which no doubt will bring him to the 2 web sites has. The more we politely question our doctors the more they will think about PSC and the more proactive and powerful we will feel about our own disease. I'm frankly tired of always reading "it's a rare disease" - it isn't rare to my son or this group! We need to get all of our doctors thinking more about PSC (and in turn, backing up what they tell us with hard facts). I only wish we could get all of these doctors to sit around a kitchen table and discuss this like we do! I'd bring the cookies and milk.....
