Guest guest
Dear Jodi, Welcome to our group. I admire your willingness to go with your gut. Your doctor is pretty far out of it, but since you go there for medical advice and not parenting advice you take what you need. If your daughter was nursing as infrequently as your doctor indicated you would probably be supplementing her with a lot of solids, because she would be starving!! My DD has had frequent cause for me to think that she had ear infections (3 already) but so far no trouble. I just keep breastfeeding on demand, because I don't like to rush into solid food. DD is now 7 months old and gets solids 1-2 times per day, depending on her sleeping patterns, et al. Lately she nurses every 2-3 hours day and 3-4 hours night. I take her back to bed frequently at night, so I can get rest. Her only naps are while nursing! Amy Lynn mother to 2-1/2 and 7 months.
