Guest guest
Rich, Great post. I was 491 (or more probably) when I decided to have surgery. I had my surgery January 20, 2006. I'd be interested to know what your age (I'm 38), height (I'm 6') and weight are now (I'm about 289). How are you doing exercise wise (I work out regularly)? I like all your points. I don't practice #3 but may start a protein shake if my dietician and physiologist recommend one at my next appointment in a few months so I can either add more or tone different muscles more effectively. I might add a point that, for me, having a Healthy Choice (or really any frozen, pre-packaged meal) for lunch is a great way to control portions. I suppose you could go to an extreme and do this for every meal if you needed to but I would think the sodium would get heavy. I haven't sought counseling for my issues with food, primary of which, I feel/felt was portion size. I ate somewhat healthy (read a bit of denial here) but when I ate healthy or unhealthy it was always in massive excess. I have had some counseling and was previously medicated for bi-polarism and other issues (divorce) in my life which has sort of spilled over into reducing my obsession with food.
