Hi to all, My first rhematologist appt is on fri and I just realized

something... I have never been to a specialist for anything before.. I

mean like gyn for pregnancy, so on so forth, but nothing like this! I

am really nervous! Everytime I see a dr I feel like a deer caught in

headlights! And I have a hard time trusting dr.s anyway. I know you

explain symptoms, and meds and such, but how do you do that? It seems

like a stupid question, but need some guidence, scared to death!

Thanks, gretchen

I believe that what you are feeling is normal because we all fear the doctor

that will tell us we are full of $_ _t. But the best advice I can give you is

to be yourself the best you can and tell him what you are going through.

Hopefully this doctor will be one that wants to treat you and give you the right

medications. To be honest, I think I would be a little scared too. I mean,

here is this person standing there that we do not know. (although it is a

doctor, we all know that doctors are just educated human beings with their own

little quirks and beliefs).

Just remember we are here to listen. And most rheumys I guess must believe us

just because of the specialty they are in. So just keep your chin up honey and

tell this doctor what you experience.

hugs,

Debra V.
