I have been on 0.25mg of generic xanax (alprozolum) for 30 years, yes,

30 years. It is cool with me and I take 1/2 of that size pill 4 times

a day, the last 1/2 I take going to bed and it is wonderful, with all

my anxieties over the 74 years, it has done wonders for me and it is so

mild, I have no side effects, never did. I also take 20mg of paxil

every day for the last 9 years for chemical imbalance. Does great, I

could not drive on the highway or go out of the house 30 years ago

because of a devastating divorce, and it really helped me. 9 years ago

when I started taking the paxil, within 2 wks I have never been the

same, I can go anywhere and do anything and I am not afraid. I have

God in my life to help me through the really bad stuff, but the

alprozolum and paxil have straightened my butt up just fine.

Thats absolutely great. Prescribed correctly and monitored they can do

wonders for many people. I have been on sleep meds since 1988 and am

sure I always will be. We all react differently and finding what is

right can be tough but sounds like your doctor hit you right the first

time. I'm one of those strange ones who couldn't tolerate any of the

SSRI's-not Prozac, Zoloft, or Paxil.
