Supplements may help itchiness

I want to share with you the ONLY thing that helped me when I was going

through the itching that can drive a person insane.

The supplement is Milk thistle extract (Silybum marianum) standardized

to 80% silymarin. I don't remember to dose I took, but a health book

that talks about using supplements says to use 200mg 3 times daily. It

seems like I took more per dose than that but only took it twice. I

can't say it took the itch away completely, but it did help more than

anything else. What I know now I would have skipped all the medications

and gone straight to the supplements if possible. The drugs are filtered

through the liver and we already have compromised livers so the less

load possible is best. Silybum marianum standardized is best anyway as

it actually helps the liver to heal where the drugs just cover our

symptoms.

I do want to issue a warning to know about a supplement before you use

it. Make sure you only use herbs that are standardized (as not all

supplements are equal) be suspect of a product that is cheaper than

anywhere else. Also keep in mind supplements are generally safer than

drugs if you know what your doing. Generally speaking don't use any

product without knowing as much as you can about it whether

natural/supplements or drugs. Our doctors and professions are suppose to

protect us, but that hasn't always been my experience.
