Guest guest
> > Hi Everyone: Have not been on in a few weeks. Not feeling well SOB O2 6 lpm at rest, swollen ankles, legs. Now I am on lassix. I guess that is why my chest has been hurting more than the normal hurt. I do not like the potassium that they have you take with it. I think I may only take potassium every other day. I guess this edema goes with the end stage.. Any feedback? > Amy > Amy in May i flew to Florida and found myself with swelling that looked like my legs and feet belonged to an elephant. Have been on 40mg of lasix a day since. If not taken find myself with at least 5 pound weight gain. It is just that now the heart is helping to compensate for the lungs. Haven't found anywhere that it is end stage, but then again like Terri said haven't been able to find anything that truly gives an end stage picture. It appears to be part of the beast. Well, this weather is definitely not helping with all this. Pray you feel better. Are you finding things to keep you busy and entertaining your mind. Guest guest
Amy, I'm sorry you are going through this. I've been on lasix in the past for swollen legs and feet. What caused it in my case was congestive heart failure. Have they tested your heart recently? (EKG, echocardiogram etc) I also had to take those huge potassium pills. I took mine every other day and just made sure to eat alot of potassium rich foods.(bananas, oranges, tomatoes, potatoes, honeydew melons.) I hope that things stablize for you soon. Still a mystery why I didn't need them one day and all of a sudden I did! Mark pf 11/07 Raleigh, NC
