Guest guest
now we all who are diabetic and healthy know all ready how important it is to eat lots of fiber in a day. I know what kinds and types of food has fiber, but where do I get a list that tells me how many grams of fiber are in each type of food I eat? seems like all the experts disagree on exactly how many grams of fiber we need to eat a day. I've heard any where from 15 to 45 and all between. once a teacher in school told us that the longer it took you to chew it up, then that food had lots of fiber in it. she said this was the best way to eat right because eating was work when it took you a long time to chew your food up, so you got tired when eating. this way you only done it when you had to so you wouldn't die from lack of energy. we kids thought the lady had a few screws loose and needed to retire. maybe she did have the right clues way back then and we should have paid more attention? I use my carb counter all the time and I even got a calorie counter as well, but haven't got a fiber counter and would like to have one. of course I know I can go find this on the net, but I'm not smart enough to figure out how to down load it to my pc and then get it Brailed so I can stick it in a note book. reading with my ears is grate when you can't spell, but if I'm going to retain what I read, then I have to read with my fingers. thanks for any fine information you might have for me.
