You attach the slingbox to your tv or video source at home. You need high speed internet at home. You then install the slingplayer on your computer. This allows you then to watch anything you could at home from your computer anywhere you have a high speed internet connection. At home it does require an ethernet connection to your network (and in turn to the internet) as it does not support wireless. The only other limitation is that internet providers are clamping down on excessive uploads, which basically the content is being uploaded from home and downloaded on your remote computer. So you could run into objections from your provider or additional charges at some point.
