Guest guest
Hi Deanna! I'm the newest member who just joined this week. I have a daughter, the same age as . She had both plagio and torticollis diagnosed at two months old. Like you I seem to face more problems with her still. The medical profession in Queensland sure kept me in the dark. They never told me anything what her future would be like. Last year she was diagnosed with Speech Language Impairment from the school's speech therapist. The school had organised extra tutoring for her literacy skills which I don't think it helped her. A friend of mine suggested Kip McGrath Education Centre to get extra tutoring. We had the free assessment done this afternoon. I was quite surprise with her results. The director of this centre feels she may not have this impairment afterall. She could be having learning difficulties (has problems with her reading skills) because of her eye sight. Looks like she could have a lazy eye. Would this problem could be one of the side affects of Plagio? Deanna wrote: Hi everyone! My name is Deanna. My 6 year old son was diagnosed with plagiocephaly when he was five months old. I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there with an older child, like mine, with any other problems. My son was discovered to be deaf in one ear and 48% deaf in the other ear when he was four and a half. It just seems like he has one problem after another. This is not the only problem, he also has severe speech problems, related to the hearing. I would just like to know if anyone else has related problems with their children. We were told that he would have no side affects from plagiocephaly.
