Well, I had my visit and I have PSC. I'm taking it fairly well as 2

years ago I was also told I had another chronic disease (Wegener's).

Apparently that may have PSC the whole time though.

I'm posting some of the results to get any feedback/thoughts from the

group. The damage to my liver is minimal, and the UC is also mild. My

doctor says I'm a-symptomatic, which I'm very greatful for. The

hardest part was hearing that there is nothing he wants to presecribe

right now. Usually you go to the doctor and they give you something

to fix your problem. My doctor feels that studies have shown there

are no drugs that slow the progression of the disease and does not

wanted to prescribe any. Is this accurate? I'm almost the type of

person who would feel better taking a water-pill if someone told me

it would help!

The plan right now is for me to get hepatitis vaccines next week,

then see him in 6 months for a bone density scan/checkup. And also do

colon cancer testing once per year.

I was also wondering are there any diet changes/supplements which can

help your liver? The doc tells me that most people feel milk thistle

helps, but he says science has proven it has no effect on the

disease.

This is a great group and I'm very glad to be involved in it. I've

never seen a support group which is so knowledgable and involved.

Hopefully I can contribue to this in the future. Any thoughts/advice

is greatly appreciated.

Jed

PSC 6/07, Is that how you write it? It's only my second time :)
