Guest guest
ever since the second day of July my weight has stayed between 282 and 286. now my q for you who may know, is if my thyroid is messed up as the saw bones believes it is, can this fact have anything to do with losing weight in a easier manner? I know when we age taking extra pounds off isn't as easy as it was when younger, but when you exercise daily and watch the carbs, then I believe it should be some easier then it has been. I did read on the net that our thyroid can cause our energy level to be lower then normal. I always figured my lack of energy was due to getting older or lack of as many calories as I use to eat. the saw bones is suppose to recheck the thyroid numbers next time I go in, which will probably be in September. been trying to get out of the 80's and in to the 70's so I can feel like progress has been achieved. I'm not like you ladies who are happy with one pound lost a month. I know I don't have the patients of Job! not going to give up or nothing crazy like that, but was thinking about taking this, that and the other to clean me self out and start fresh again. I hear all the time on the radio how I can drink this and eat that for 3 days and then I spend the next 24 hours on the thrown emptying me self of ten or twenty pounds of stuff I ate 3 years ago! heard of a fellow who lost over 250 pounds in 3 months. now I know this sounds way to crazy and I have no plan of trying anything this off the wall, but I read about him and of course he did exercise for ten to 12 hours a day and only ate fresh fruit and veggies. he had a trainer and his wife left him in the end. she said he lost all that weight, but in the process he forgot he had a family. she said he was consumed with the weight lost program he was doing and nothing else or any one else mattered. 250 pounds in 3 months? seems like the story said he weighed over 500 when he started. back in 07, they gave me some kind of pill that made me pee like a horse for one day. actually they said I had a lot of fluid build up and I needed to rid my self of it. best I can recall I lost around 27 pounds in 3 days. I know it was all water weight, but still it felt so good to see how those pounds just fell off in 3 days only! I believe they call this instant gratification or something as that. it really is a instant kind of world we now live in. I want what I want and I want it right now! Guest guest
Don't know anything about thyroid issues, Mark, but I recall if you've got a thyroid problem, you can gain weight. In your case, perhaps, it's prohibiting you from losing weight. Remember, you're blood work was great, you exercise regularly, you eat good, your blood sugar levels are doing really good, and you have a great attitude. If the weight isn't coming off, well, perhaps it's the thyroid, or maybe you will simply have to weight a good long while. Not trying to discourage you, but my point is, you really can't do much else, short of starving yourself, which is definitely not recommended. Guest guest
Hi Mark and alll, oh yes we can't do all kinds ofcrazy things. we are supposed to have a balanced and good life and eat less. not saying it is easy, still fighting over the same 10 pounds all summer. By the way, you can have a test for throid to see ifyou are hypo thyroid or hyperthyroid or just normal. I had mine taken while having other bloodwork done. I was hypothyroid, and have been on the medicine almost 3 months, lost about 11 pounds. After thenext blood test they decide to give you more or less. I don't think you can totally depend on that medicine to take your weight off, I thik we must do it the way we always have, a little liss here and there and more exercises. When I feel a rush about getting thinner thatis when I mess up. when I feel easy going about it, it goes much better. don't ask me why, but that is my take on this thing.
