Guest guest
, My husband was in and out of the hospital many times that we never really knew what the problem was. We would just chalk them up to complications with his liver. Sometimes they may have just been a virus, but when you have liver problems, you over react (which is good). It sounds like your husband has good doctors and they are doing the right thing about getting him evaluated for the transplant list. Since PSC is so unpredictable, you never know how long (if at all) before transplant is neccessary. My husband was on what seemed like a relative fast track. He was diagnosed in 2000, and really started getting worse in 2004. It was 2006 when he got the transplant. Others have been living with PSC for years. I remember the shock I felt the first time our doctor said liver transplant. I'm not sure how I didn't hit the floor. Who would have thought I would be the one begging and praying for him to get a high enough MELD score to get the transplant! I'm thankful for this group, because with each of his issues before and after transplant, there were people here who had gone through what I was going through and could point me in the right direction. Hang in there! wife of PSC & UC 2000, J pouch 2004 transplant November 2006
