I'm so sad to hear about Betty's passing! She was spunky, and I liked

her a lot, prayed for her a lot, thought about her a lot. I just can't

believe such a *team member* is really gone. What a loss for all of us,

not to mention her family. Will keep her in heart and mind and her

family in prayers and good thoughts.

I don't know the circumstances with Betty's death. But I do know

that most people who have died from this surgery have had blood clots

sometimes up to a month or two later. There are risks with this

surgery as there are from any surgery. The mortality rate is

something between 1 and 2% as I understand it. That is about normal

for any abdominal surgery.

I would say that if there is any diet, any system, any program that

you haven't tried, try it first. Surgery is a serious solution to a

serious problem and should be taken only as a last resort. If you

can live happily without the surgery do it. But if you are at the

end of your rope surgery may be for you. If you have tried

everything and nothing works it may be time. Surgery is not to be

taken lightly but it can be a life saver. I pray that you make the

right decision for you.

Regards.
