If the class if full, there will be another one. As far as not being able to take off from work to go to a class... I don't believe that. Diabetes is a disease and as part of your treatment you need to do this during work, you should be able to take sick leave or vacation time to attend. I believe that the Americans with Disabilities Act makes that quite clear. You should probably check with your human resources department.
