Guest guest
Didn't I recently read somewhere that they did testing with rats...they injected the rats with oxytocin, and this affected/impaired the rats social memory? I KNOW I read something along those lines somewhere...because that link has been playing around my brain... Like....I feel that I have noticed that a lot of at least Asperger kids - of which my son is one - are often firstborns. Not always but often. Okay so what would be different about that? Does a woman's body go thru something different hormonally/chemically to ready itself to carry a child the first time around? Could this extra surge of whatever be one of the elements to 'trip the switch' in terms of autism? I have been wondering about the oxytocin link for awhile...and also the incidence among firstborns. OR perhaps not just firstborns but firstborn MALES. Just some big fat thoughts. I know we would all love some answers at some point...all I've done is ask more questions. Thanks a lot, right? BTW - I was like several people who already replied. Labor started, then stalled - then they used the pitocin. Ya gotta wonder...
