Guest guest
For those of you that have successfully gone gluten free, what kind of benefits have you experienced? I have tried to go gluten free a few times now...with each time, the biggest thing I noticed was improvement in my sinuses (which is a plus). I have been planning to get tested...but I hate the thoughts of completely giving up breads and cereals, etc. A lot of the gluten free foods (like pasta, etc) taste like crap. *sigh* Looking for some incentive! Guest guest
Chelle, even if you get tested and are positive, you still don't have to do anything you don't want to do. It will however help you to know a lot about what is wrong with you and give you information you wouldn't otherwise have. You would have a real choice then. If you are sensitive it will eventually if not already has make you very sick--more than you ever want to be. I forget the girl who was asking about fibromyalgia the other day and she listed all her symptoms--including neurological ones, memory problems, and much more. I thought at the time that she has to be gluten sensitive but I have said it so many times I sometimes give up. My son has known for about seven years that he is and hadn't done much about it until recently. His thyroid is completely gone it seems, has fatique, memory problems, chronic diarrhea, etc. His LDL is over 750. He aches all over. I know that if he went to a rheumatologist they would diagnose him with FM like they did with me. We both are gluten sensitive and that has caused all the problems. You can get an accurate stool test for gluten sensitivity at Enterolab for about a hundred dollars plus postage. No other lab in the country tests for this. They only test for Celiac which is when the small intestine is damaged so much the blood tests will pick up the existence of blood. Enterolab tests for both. Also, when one goes gluten free, often the thyroid recovers. The benefits for going gluten free for me was that it gave my life back. I couldn't have survived much longer. fatique, 30 year diarrhea, extreme muscle pain, neuropathy, and on and on. Couldn't get out of bed. This is no joke. But as I said, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do but you should find out. Guest guest
My husband gave me that book for Christmas! I haven't finished it yet due to time constraints, but what I have read is interesting and motivating! Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
