I was just reading some stuff last night and I came across several articles mentioning that people often receive a diagnosis of hypothyroid when they develop a wheat or gluten intolerance. It's interesting - I was nine when I started on my synthroid and since then (21 years until I went wheat free) I felt awful. I am very curious as to what my tsh and t3 and t4 levels are at this point. How interesting would it be if I could suddenly go off of this med that I've been on for more than half of my life?!?!?! Liz Liz, how has going gluten free affected you so far? I went gluten free for about 3.5 months last winter...I'm thinking of trying it again. I think it would be very INTERESTING to see if the gluten truly is related to your hypothyroidism. Please keep us posted! Arline sent an article a while back that linked gluten to Endometriosis....and I read some other info on it too. I think diet (in many ways) effects us so much more than we realize. I know that when I went gluten free it made a big difference in my sinuses. ~Chelle
