Guest guest
Does anyone have any tips for decorating a Hanger brand helmet? I think the plastic is different from the others in that it is textured instead of smooth. My daughter Laelie is getting her helmet today, and I have purchased some stickers and sealer, but I wondered if any of you " experienced " parents have any advice for me. The plastic is pink to begin with, so I won't be doing an all- over paint, but rather stickers and possibly puffy paint, with sealer over. I want to make sure that whatever I use can't chip off and get into my daughter's mouth or eyes. Thanks for your help! If anyone has any general advice (other than decorating) about the Hanger helmets, I would love to hear it! And I would also appreciate your prayers too......I am still so upset about the fact that my daughter even has to get a helmet! We noticed her flat head at about two months, but our doctor kept telling us " it will round out " (it hasn't!), and we had never even heard of plagio/bracycephaly before, so we didn't know to be really concerned or do repo. My husband and I are going through all the emotions that many of you have experienced....anger, resentment towards the doctor, guilt over feeling like bad parents, embarrasment that our daughter is the only kid we have ever known that will have to wear a helmet......etc, etc, etc. And of course our insurance has denied it claiming that it is " cosmetic " . Thanks for your thoughts, advice, and prayers! proud mama of Laelie (8 months old, 98% brachy, 4mm asym., & totally gorgeous!) getting her Hanger helmet today 6/15/06 at 2pm!
