Guest guest
Hi ,My yeast test were negative too at the conventional doc, but the natural doc said I had yeast. Diflucan did nothing for me. I finally got my family doc to prescribe Nystatin oral powder that I mixed with water 2 times a day. I also had to go on the candida diet. It took 4 months of this routine to get rid of my vulvar burning and itching. It was gone for 3 years then I got super stressed, starting eating tons of processed foods and the burning came back with the white thick discharge. I am convinced it was yeast again because the only thing that gets rid of it is the antifungal with the diet. I would suggest reading the book: "The Yeast Connection Handbook" by Crook, it helped me get started on the nystatin and the diet. I brought the book into my family doc and showed her what form and amount of nystatin he recommended. The antifungals do not seem to work alone if a person does not change their diet if they have a tough strain of yeast. Sugar feeds yeast and most processed foods contain it. I had to eat mostly meat and veggies. I have ideas for recipes and the foods that can be eaten on the diet if you decide to go on it. I personally think that more women have yeast problems than we think. If I would have listened to my gyns, I would not have had any relief and I would still be on FIRE every day like I used to be! If someone keeps getting yeast there has to be an imbalance somewhere in their system, hormones, lowered immune system, etc. You can beat this, it is possible. It just takes will power and lots of home cooking instead of eating out and eating processed foods. Check out the book! good luck, susanSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.
