I had the TP-ICT in June of 2005 (my 2 year anniversary just passed on the 10th yeah!). I was diagnosed with CP at 7. Six years prior to the TP-ICT I was in constant pain and came across the TP-ICT. So I went and meet with Dr. Sutherland and he said I was a candidate for the surgery. It was a really tough decision for me and actually I made an apt, but never thought I would actually go through with it. It wasn't until 2 weeks before June 10th that I decided for sure that I was going to do it. It is a huge decision to make and a very scary one at that. I was 21 when I had the procedure done. I was in college and my daily schedule prior to the surgery was go to class and then come home and sleep until it was time to get up and go to class again. It was horrible I could never do any of the fun college activities that everyone else was doing. I really didn't have much of a life at all. My biggest fear before was that I would graduate and would never be able to

have a full time job. So I kinda felt like I had nothing to lose. I will have to say that the surgery has changed my life drastically. I graduated from college, got a full time job, and I have more energy then ever. These past two years have been a whirlwind... something I never thought would happen. My life is 10x better than before. Prior to the surgery I wasn't a diabetic and now I am, but having diabetes is 10x better than being in extreme pain everyday. I also still have a little pain but I have managed to get off all the narcotics (fentanyal patch and Oxycontin) and I am managing the pain with tramadol and Advil when needed. I hope that this has helped. If you have any questions about anything I am more than happy to answer any of them. You can e-mail me at
