Guest guest
Okay, I haven't posted in a long time and I'm way behind on posts. (Still looking from thursday.) I've been busy with my daughter and then the kids stole the computer from me So I'm trying to play catch up. Maggie had an endoscope done on Friday. I'm glad it is over but man it was not a good time at all. Maggie had a thing for blood draws but had never had an IV so she was nervous. She now has a full blown phobia of IVs. They tried to start one and they went through the vien. Maggie started hyperventilating and they put oxygen on her. Once they thought she was calm they tried the other side and once again through the vien. They didn't put pressure on the sites like they should have and the first site got a HUGE lump on it. She was soooo sore. They decided at that point to wait for her to have the " laughing gas " and then do the IV. Maggie has a nervous condition that comes from me went she gets nervous or upset she laughs hysterically. So the gas was quite the experience. When she finally got through with the procedure, which they told me showed no visible trouble, she counted how many tries it took to get the IV going. Total 2 left elbow, 1 left hand, 1 right elbow, and they finally got it in the right hand. When she realized that the IV was still in she freaked again. Laughing like crazy, tears, shaking it was really bad. I was so glad to get that over. Now I'm hoping she doesn't have gall bladder problems because I don't want to face surgery and an IV again. It's a real nightmare. Well, I hope to catch up soon and I'll be checking in when I finally do. I hope you all are having a " good " day. And to all fibrohugs.
