Is it unreasonable for a parent to think that this particular service provider should not be afflicted with SEVERE STUTTERING?!!!!!! (Is this a Sat Night Live skit or what?) Any suggestions for how to tactfully tell the school district they suck? >> Heidi: 1. This is called a " Unilateral Placement " by the parents- if you insist on placing your kid in one placement, but the school district wants him in another placement. It puts you into a certain legal arena that I really can't advise you on. You should consult an expert on the ramifications of this. 2. This is totally bogus. This is a " Quality of Service " issue for your child, and you could potentially go to Due Process over this. This person will not help your child make meaningful progress, and worse, you risk regression if this provider cannot speak distinctly and provide appropriate speech modeling. Here's my attorney's contact info. (She may be a bit busy this week, since OUR Due Process case is coming up in 10 days, and we are in the preparation process as we speak!!). Beth Callahan, Esq.
