Joyce I have AARP plan J, seems to be fine. $145.00 per mo.   Love & Prayers, PeggyFlorida,  IPF/UIP 2004"I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."  frustrated!!!  medicare started August 1--got a decent supplemental plan--Blue Cross Select Advantage Gold.  For a few $$$ more, it covered a lot of stuff.  Notified that it is being discontinued as of jan 2009.  they will switch me to Select Advantage Silver.  premium is less, but copays and deductibles are more.  Need to find a different plan, but so far, the ones that i looked at are not as good.  will continue the search...Pink Joyce IPF 3/06  Pennsylvania

Joyce,

As of today I have Medicare and a Medigap policy from Banker's Life, Plan J. My premium is higher because I'm under 65 at $252. I'm sorry that Blue Cross is messing with you like this. It's so frustrating!

Are you using medicare's search and compare feature on their website? I

don't know how prevalant Advantage plans vs. Medigap supplements are in

PA but you might want to look at Medigap too. It was anticipated by most

to see some weakening of benefits or increase of cost ot Medicare

Advantage plans for 2009 as the amount being paid by Medicare to the

Insurance company is being reduced.

I have Plan F from Sierra Health and Life and I pay $196.00 per month

because of being under 65. AARP charges that for Plan A here for those

of us disabled. Only two companies offer anything other than Plan A to

those under 65 in Texas and no one offers Plan J.
