Guest guest
You make an excellent point, Andi ( & if you don't mind my saying so, your 2 cents is worth a heckuva lot more than 2 cents!) So eager was USC to transplant into Jim that, based solely upon a completed application (accompanied with proof of blood type), USC invited to make the 2-hour drive up there & they conducted ALL his evaluation in JUST ONE (long, long, exhausting, even for a healthy ) DAY. By comparison ( & I realize we're comparing the Jim " apple " to the " orange " ), when Jim was worked up a year prior (for his cadaveric waitlist), that process took Jim & I FOUR LONG MONTHS. Some centers (esp. those aspiring to " center of excellence " standing) are absolutely eager to transplant, some surgeons eager for the experience. Maureen /other options? Mel, Could you look into going out of state to perhaps Florida?, surely there are other centers that would consider transplanting you. Just my two cents..
