Guest guest
In Citizen Magazine's Feb 07 issue there is an article about stem cell research (I know controversial, but please stick with me for a second!) On their website, they don't have any info about Feb's issue, but I am sure in just a few weeks it will be posted. But anywasy my point- There is a paragraph I would like to quote. " On Oct 31, scientists at New Castle University in Britain announced they had grown tiny sections of human liver from stem cells removed from umbilical cords. In just two years, they say these will be ready to be used to test drugs to avoid the risks associated with testing them on humans. Eventually the plan is to construct whole livers for humans with no chance of regection or need for dangerous immunosupressant drugs because unlike Embryonic Stemm cells- the cells come from the patient himself. " The article is headlined " Dispatches by Fumento " Anyways, my husband is in the early stages of PSC, and a liver transplant is far in the future (we hope), but articles like this give me hope. Please don't take this post to be a political statement in any way. The article was passed on to us from his mother and I thought it was interesting so I am passing on to you all. Thank you all for your support. Jeannie Denney
