Good morning! You can now register for the Second Annual Virtual

Walk! The First Virtual Walk completed in April 2006 was so successful

in raising funds for PSC Research. We are hoping to raise even more

money for research this year.

For those new to the Virtual Walk: 100% of the donations from this

walk go towards PSC research! You can participate from your home by

asking family and friends for their support and donations via email or

snail mail. You can also walk through your neighborhood or at work.

For those who may be hesitant to ask others for donations, I found

that participating in this fundraiser was SO MUCH easier for me than

any other charitable cause I had worked with, because I was also

educating people about PSC, a rare, orphan disease with no cure. As I

talked with people, I was educating and informing them and giving them

an opportunity to help find a cure for PSC through their donation of

any amount. People were interested and their generosity was

overwhelming.

For those who hesitate to sign up as you might only have a few donors:

please sign up! The more of us who participate, the better this

Virtual Walk will be! Last year about 51 people signed up. We are

hopeful that many more of you will participate this year. Every

single donor is valuable, every person who learns about PSC is valuable.

Lee Bria coordinated the First Virtual Walk. This year, Lee and I are

available to help you in any way we can. After you register, Lee will

send you your T Shirt for signatures (and pictures or messages from

your donors), plus your packet will include sample letters/emails that

you can personalize (often easier to modify than to start from

scratch). You will also receive the Thank You Letter to acknowledge

your donors and give them the tax receipt information. Please feel

free to contact Lee or me. I'm sure other Virtual s from last

year will also offer thoughts and advice to help this year's Virtual

Walk be successful.

Second Annual Virtual Walk

Supporting PSC Partners Seeking a Cure

March through April 14, 2007

The goal of the Virtual Walk is to raise money for research to find a

cure for PSC. The Virtual Walk also increases public knowledge and

awareness about PSC. Last year the First Annual Virtual Walk raised

an astonishing $44,494.00. In January 2007, the formal announcement

was made that PSC Partners Seeking a Cure had donated $20,000 to

collaborate with the Foundation in a PSC research project,

developing a patient registry.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the 2007 Second Annual Virtual

Walk. You can choose how you would like to participate: from your

computer via email, by mailing letters to friends, co-workers, and

businesses in your community, or by walking in your neighborhood.

You could stretch and be creative, like Mike Zaloudek's 260 mile

bicycle ride to Pittsburgh last April!

Virtual s are encouraged to be as involved as you can, because

everyone's participation is valued. Many individuals raising a small

number of donations carries a large cumulative benefit to build the

success of this year's Virtual Walk.

Your donation of $25 will cover mailing all materials, including T

Shirt for signatures and decorations, permanent ink pen, and sample

letters which you can personalize. A thank you letter with receipt of

donation for tax purposes will be included to give to your donors.

Again, all donations are appreciated. Last year many T Shirts had a

number of $1 and $5 donations as part of their signatures. You will

probably be pleasantly surprised by some very generous donations too.

An envelope will be enclosed with your registration packet to mail

your Donor Signature List and checks to Joanne Hatchett by April 3rd.

If you are attending the PSC conference in Denver, you can also bring

your checks and Donor Signature List by Friday, April 13th to the

registration desk.

T Shirts will be displayed at the PSC Conference. It was fun to see

the beautiful and creative shirts that were shared last year. If you

cannot attend the conference, you can mail your shirt to Joanne and we

will be sure it is on display!
