Guest guest
Dr. Q. was very reluctant to give me the prescription when I first asked for it. And this is from a doctor who has given me narcotics strong enough to kill a horse. But the same thing happened today. I had a small birthday party this afternoon at my house and my grandchildren came (3 & 5), busy as all kids that age. Running all over, chasing the cats, etc. They were here for about three hours and I had taken an Ativan just before they came, because I was in so much pain all morning, I barely got dressed in time for their arrival. But the Ativan kicked in, and I had minimal pain, not even enough that I noticed it for the rest of the afternoon. We all had a great time and I was just so thankful that I had no pain. I will ask Dr. Q next month and see what he says. There must be some reason he is very reluctant to prescribe this drug. And knowing how well it works I can see myself taking them constantly, but I just can’t do that – I refuse to become addicted to them. nne From: VulvarDisorders [mailto:VulvarDisorders ] On Behalf Of Chelle Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2008 1:57 AM To: VulvarDisorders Subject: RE: Ativan / Valium - nne millburytimes wrote: >>>>>>>I just wish I knew why Ativan/Valium works better than narcotics for nerve pain. Hey nne, have you spoken with Dr. Quesada and asked him 'why' the Ativan works so well? I'd say he might have some good thoughts and maybe could help you determine if the Ativan or Valium would work better for you. You are in such good hands with him - that I'd say he could help you figure this out! When it comes to meds, our bodies are so different, so maybe for whatever reason the Benzo's just work best on 'your' pain. Hang in there.
