Guest guest Posted January 14, 2008 Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 Hi, everyone has helped me in so many ways with all of your suggestions about what causes my itching. I am going to take a multi approach with diet and allergy testing but in the meantime I want to get the iching under control and then go from there because when I itch it upsets me and makes it worse. Yesterday I was itching and took a benadryl but it didn't work so I took another elavil 25 mg. Later in the afternoon the itching stopped. So I really have no way of knowing what helped but now I am inclined to think it was the elavil because the benadryl I took only last 4 hours. Last week when I increased my elavil at night, he didn't work but I am thinking it might take awhile at the increased dose. If I increase the elavil at night, from 25 to 50 how many days will it take to stop the itching if the elavil is effective?
