Guest guest
I believe that they are finally beginning to use anesthetic for circumcision. I cannot vouch for that personally as I had a girl baby, but according to my parenting magazines there was a big hoorah about weather or not circumcision causes pain and a bunch of studies done. They now know that the pain for those little babies is along the leval of torture. Personally I would think the babies screams and the mother's themselves could have told them that years ago. I agree with the whole barbarity of episiotomies and much of how they handle the birthing process. And this may not be an opinion shared with some of the other women on this group who have given birth, but I felt almost like they were conditioning us in the parenting classes to believe that a natural childbirth somehow made you more of a woman. I told my doctor that I had had a complete vulvar vestibulectomy and that if I didn't get a martyr medal for that one that I doubt if I was going to go down in history as a hero for giving birth naturally and elected to have a cesarean section. There was no way I was going to let anyone put any forceps in me or allow damage to the area with tearing or an episiotomy after all I had been through.
