Guest guest
Ya, no periods, that is worth it. When you have your doctors apt. with the surgeon who is performing the surgery, tell him your concerns, they may have to leave more muscle or something to assure that you can continue to climax, I don't know. This really is a good question. Millie Re: Hysterectomy and sex afterwards - Millie Millie, thanks so much for sharing your story. I know it's hard, because all this stuff is so personal...but thank goodness we can ask each other these types of questions and get some honest answers. I could ask multiple 'male' docs about this very subject...but no-one will be able to tell me like the women who've 'actually' been through the surgery. I so appreciate the replies...they have been very helpful. I think I'm beginning to move over into the area of acceptance...I was even thinking how nice it will be NOT to ever have periods anymore! Now that's a plus! ~Chelle

I like my doc...but I'm gonna research this issue for myself. I just figure I'm better off asking those of you that have had the surgery. I do know that after the surgery if you have any hormonal issues those have to be resolved or that will definitely effect sexual functioning and the ability too. But I want to make sure no nerves or anything will be cut that would effect it...cause I know no amount of hormones would work for that... ~Chelle

Guest guest
You are right, that is why you need to tell your doctor up front, that sex is important to you. I don't know if they have to leave a certain amount of nerves or muscles. I am glad your husband is going with you. As far as hormones, from the vulva stand-point, I didn't need anything until about 5 years after my surgery. But everyone is different. Good luck, Millie Re: Hysterectomy and sex afterwards - Millie or Millie Goodman <mgoodman (AT) carr (DOT) org> wrote: >>>>>>>Ya, no periods, that is worth it.
