Well, you have to eat...lol I've known many people to take Xanax and do fine with it, primarily using it as an occasional anti-anxiety med. It's often prescribed by doctors other than psychiatrists. Now, psychiatrists prescribe it too but if something is needed daily they generally try to use one of the newer medications. You may be getting this from a psychiatrist but if not I do recommend seeing one if you're finding you need it regularly. They are more familiar with all the alternatives. I'm a bit disturbed by the amount of medications prescribed by doctors outside their fields and feel they might do it once or twice but they need to make referrals. Guest guest Posted August 21, 2008 Report Share Posted August 21, 2008 Amy Thats the minimum dosage so I don't see any real issue except snippyness which is not typical as the relaxed stage generally causes the opposite. Thats a low dosage but the thing with Xanax is that used regularly it will lead to needing a larger dosage. Again, using it on occasion I see nothing wrong with what you're doing but if you're using it daily, I feel you might be best served to see someone who specializes in prescribing psychiatric meds. > > > > Does anyone take xanax for anxiety? Xanax didn't work for me but now I can't remember why. I take Cymbalta and I'm so grateful for how well it works for me. I've been on it now for a couple of years. What do you mean, "freaking out"?
