Guest guest
Hi, It probably means he has grown and he needs an adjustment to make room. When sydney's head grew a lot her forehead showed it the most. hers tended to look like a sunburn. -christine mom to sydney/ 10.5 mo/ starband grad 10-6 > > III has a red spot on his forehead. Guest guest
--- Hi Tamra, He probably just had a growth spurt and needs to have the helmet adjusted. The same things happened with Jenna at the begining, she had a red spot on her forehead and they just shaved some of it off and then she was alright. If it was still there this morning I would keep it off until you get an adjustment because it could cause a blister and then you would have to keep the helmet off until it heals. Hope that helps. Guest guest
My baby (8 months old) also has this problem. We took it to have it adjusted and the ortho bent out the spot where it was and added more padding. Well, now her red spot covers her entire forehead. I have left her helmet off for two days and put antibiotic cream on it. It is still there. It does look like a bad sunburn. I will be calling my ortho in the morning but if you find out something, please post it. I am doubting how my ortho is handling this. It concerns me and I want to have xmas pics taken!!! If anyone else has any ideas, please post. Mom of beautiful baby girl. > > III has a red spot on his forehead. When I took his helmet off > to clean it I saw it. It didn't go away, so I left it off. Guest guest
Sorry I haven't responded things have been very busy here. We took III to the ortho on Tuesday, I called & they asked how soon we could be there. He had a growth spurt so the shaved some of the foam & told us to leave it off the rest of the day & if all looked well Wed. to start at 1 hour on 1 hour off, then 2 hours on 1 hour off, 4 hours on 1 hour off, 8 hours on 1 hour off & then 23 hours on 1 hour off. So far so good, he hasn't had any more red spots or bumps. He is sweating alot, I guess his body's trying to readjust again. Thanks to everyone who replied & hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I hope you get the red spot & helmet resolved really quick, I know how frustrating it is. Our ortho was really good, he saw us right away & said if there was anymore problems to leave it off & call Mon & he would fix it again, but everything is fine now. Bad news is his insurance denied coverage, because we didn't get it approved, if anyone can help please do, I have no idea what to do about appealing. Thanks!
