Did not even notice he graduated!

Our son graduated from his DOC band this week, which we are overjoyed

about. He wore his first band for 8 weeks this spring, and his second

band for 4 months after some regression. At 14 months, I really

thought he would notice that he was unbanded, but (except for hating

his FOURTH casting) he did not even blink an eye. This morning he did

knock his head on the crib and looked surprised. I told him " band all

gone " (he knows the sign language). He reached up to rub his hair and

actually laughed out loud and looked shocked that it was not there. I

am relating this story mostly for those parents that are worrying

about how much their babies might be uncomfortable in the band.

Evidently, at least for our son, it was completely unnoticeable! It

made me feel better about the six months he had to wear it.

Thanks for reading and all your replies on this board. We are so glad

to be done with this head stuff. We are still dealing with the tort

(came back a little when he learned to walk), but it feels like we are

almost done!
