Guest guest
I spoke to the othotist last night. He said that it sounded like a swollen lymph node. I'm bringing him back in on Monday. Meanwhile, my son has a cough and congestion and his forehead is all red. I think he is just flushed from not feeling well, but I'm keeping the helmet off just in case. I know I have vented already sooo many times on this board and I'm sorry if it's getting annoying. But, everytime I look at my son's head I just want to cry. I get such a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. He is a beautiful baby boy, but I'm just so afraid of how he is going to be treated in the future if it does not round out. He is already 10 mths old and there has not been alot of improvement. I know that there are alot BIGGER issues that parents have to go through with their children and many people (including my family) think that I am so wrong for even making a big deal over this, but I just feel like I should have prevented this. Plus, I just want to yell at the Pediatrician and Neurologist who just told me to leave it alone. Alright, that's all for now. Again, thanks to all of you who listen and respond. I GREATLY appreciate it. Lump on head Hi, my son has been wearing his helmet for just about a mth. This morning, when I took off his helmet, I felt a lump (a size of a pea) on his head. It is aligned with is ears on the back right side of his head. I'm all nervous about this now (as i sit here waiting for the orthotist to call me back). Should I call the pediatrician? Guest guest
I know exactly how you feel wanting to cry every time your look at your son's head. I felt the same way 3 months ago before we got his DOCband. His head just looked SO lopsided. It's been slow, but there has been a definite improvement. Just hang in there!! My son was 12 months when he got the DOCband, so you're definitely not too late. It will probably just take longer. Don't get discouraged by all the babies that graduate in 10-12 weeks. There are other 'long timers' out there. My son has been banded since March and we're looking at another 4-5 months, but I'd do it all over again in an instant. I'd also love to throttle a few of the doctors we've dealt with... Sheila, mom to , 14 months, STARband 3/6-8/6, DOCband 9/6-? > > I spoke to the othotist last night.
