Call your doctor and ask him/her to make an appointment for you. Also, you may want to call your local hospital and ask if diabetes classes are offered. A lot of the hospitals are now offering these free of charge. Here are the bg goals as established by the Joslin Diabetes Center. Your doctor may want your goals different, but this gives you some idea. _http://www.joslin.org/Beginners_guide_523.asp_ (http://www.joslin.org/Beginners_guide_523.asp) As you have time, go through the Joslin Diabetes Center beginner's guide. This has a lot of very good information. Also, they offer online classes which you can do as you have time. You do need to get on the right track with controlling your diabetes, but don't get stressed or overwhelmed with information. That can only lead to higher numbers. Once you start getting the right information, it will not take you long to realize what you need to do to control diabetes. hugs Eunice
Guest guest
That makes a lot of sense. I will start testing an hour and two hours after meals. I will also ask the DR for a referral. Thanks all Carol Heesen If you are only checking your bg's (blood glucose) in the AM (fasting), how are you learning which foods you can eat and cannot.
