Guest guest
Hi Helen, Welcome to the group. I was diagnosed with type 2 two years ago this June. I have been following diet/behavior modification on my own as well as trying to fit more exercise in during my days. I've lost nearly 50 lbs. and have gotten all my numbers down.....fasting bg, A1c, cholesterol, triglycerides.....all that fun stuff...LOL!! I am on blood thinner for life as well, so it can be hard when trying to figure out what vegetables to eat & the amount. I haven't really changed it all that much in the 3 years I've been on blood thinners. You just have to watch the amount of green veggies you consume as the vitamin K can lessen the effects of the blood thinner meds. My doc just told me to eat a consistent amount of greens daily and I usually measure it in a one serving portion, depending on the veggie. I eat most vegetables, the only ones I limit amounts on are corn & potatoes.....both raise my blood sugar ridiculously even in very small amounts. Congratulations on your efforts & success so far, and hope it continues as well! Gail
