Guest guest
Do you have any pictures you could share with the group? What facility are you using? Maybe a group member has or is using the same facility. It shouldn't be completely crooked on her head. Angie Just banded... Hi - My 10 month old just got her band this morning and it really doesn't seem to fit at all. It's completely crooked on her head and it makes one eye droop. Has anyone else had this problem? I addressed it when they fitted her but they just said it was the way her head was shaped and that the other side of the helmet would drop when we saw some improvement. I thought that was why she was subjected to the casting - that we would get a helmet that would fit!I'm going to call tomorrow with these issues, just venting now...THanks
Guest guest
Mackenzie is asleep right now (with the band on) so I guess it's not bothering her too much. I'll take some pictures tomorrow to see what y'all think. We went to CT in Paramus. Thank you!!! > > Do you have any pictures you could share with the group? What facility are you using? Guest guest
My son's helmet apeared to be crooked, but it was realy his asymatry, and as he wore it it did level out. Every time he gets an adjustment, it looks crooked again, but after a couple days it starts to level out. Unless it leaves red marks, let it go for a week. Guest guest
Can you post a pic so we can see? What brand helmet do you use? WE had a Hanger and it had to be adjusted several times to get the fit to be right. If it is pushing on an eye or ear take it back to the orth and make sure it fits right - but without seeing it I can't say for sure. Guest guest
I just posted a picture of Mackenzie (well two by accident) in her new helmet. It's the last picture in the M Folder (Mackenzie 2/11). You can see how the helmet doesn't even touch the left side of her head. She also has a very raw looking place on her head so I'm going back in tomorrow for an adjustment. Ugh! What do you all think? Thank you. Guest guest
I am guessing that she has brachy? My son has plagio and the back side where his head was flat did not touch his head at the top opening. I was told that this is the place that his head would grow into. It looks like the same thing is going on with her noggin on the top. But a red spot deffinatly needs to be taken care of, and I am sure they can give you a better answer on the fit of the helmet. Good luck, Kami Keenan 6 months Doc band 6 weekskeygiles <key.michel@...> wrote: I just posted a picture of Mackenzie (well two by accident) in her new helmet. Guest guest
I can only respond by what I see and not by experience as Anabel will be fitted in her helmet on the 27th, but it does seem as though it definately needs adjusting....I am also under the impression that when we get the hemet that it will fit. Please any of you out there that has experience correct me if I am wrong. Guest guest
It doesn't look like it fits right. Definitely ask the ortho about it. > > > > > > Can you post a pic so we can see? > > > > What brand helmet do you use? > > > > > > > > WE had a Hanger and it had to be adjusted several times to get the fit to be right.? Guest guest
Yes, the helmet should fit when you get it! After adjustments though, it will appear loose but then close to the time that your baby needs an adjustment it appear tighter. Your ortho should explain all this when you get your band. And when in doubt, definitely ask the ortho about the fit of the helmet. > > > > > > > > > Can you post a pic so we can see? > > > > > > What brand helmet do you use? > > > > > > > > > > > > WE had a Hanger and it had to be adjusted several times to get > the fit to be right.?
