Guest guest
I would definitely leave it off him if he still has the red spot and then call again in the morning. I did not personally experience any red spots that lasted more than an hour, but from what I've heard, you should keep it off him until you can get in for an adjustment. Try some extra smelly shampoo like Suave or Loreal for Kids. Other than that, there's not much you can do but scrub, scrub, scrub with rubbing alcohol. We don't use the memory foam, but other moms have mentioned that it's good for keeping the baby comfortable, it allows their head to sink into the mattress more so that the helmet doesn't effect their sleeping quite as much. My son sleeps fine without it though, so we haven't used it. Is your son in physical therapy for his tort? You don't have to reposition him while he sleeps once he's in the band full-time. It will protect his flat spot. But if he's not in therapy, I would definitely look into it. Tort can't be corrected without a lot of stretches and exercises. Good luck! Guest guest
Well we have doing sacral cranial therapy. That has helped so much. He has almost full rotaion and only tilt sometimes. We do start regular PT tommorrow we go for the evaluation. Thanks for you advice. I will look into the memory foam and see what others say about it. > > > > Ok My son just got his starband yesterday was the first day we > wore > > it for 23 hours. > > I had to go in for adjustments today beacause when I went to give > him > > a hour break for his helmet at 8:30 I noticed a red spot on the > side > > of his face by his temple it stayed red till 10:30 so I called. Guest guest
Does it slant down only while the helmet is on, or when it is off too? My son's one eye slants down a little more than his other, but that is part of his facial assymetry that is visible even the when the helmet is off. If the helmet is pushing her eye down, you might want to take it in for an ajustment.
