Val can you help me interpret these saliva labs?

Hi Val,

I was wondering what your thoughts are on these saliva labs? I don't

know what to make of them.

Also, I think I made a mistake. I swallowed 1.25 mgs of melatonin

the night before the test. Is that going to affect the results?

Might I need to retake the test?

7-8 am, 21, range = 13 - 24 nM

11-noon, 4, range = 5 - 10 nM

4-5 pm, 7, range = 3 - 8 nM

11-midnight, 2, range = 1 -4 nM

Cortisol burden, 34, range = 23 - 42

DHEA, 6, range = 3 -10 ng/ml

I saw a doctor today and based on these labs he prescribed Cortef. He

told me to only start with 5mgs and take it only at 11-noon. He said

if I didn't feel any different after a week to raise it to 10mgs.

What do you think?

Thanks for all of your input. You have helped me immensely.

I'm not sure if the melatonin would affect it or not. The only thing I know

of to avoid is hydrocortisone in all forms for 2 weeks prior to the testing.

Your cortisol numbers look good as far as I can tell. The only thing that is

a bit low is the noon level. I would think that taking licorice or some

other type of adrenal support would be beneficial. I'm sure Val will be able

to tell you more accurately though.

I am not sure I would havegone with HC for these labsd but tried Isocort firwt,

btu as oyu have the HC I would sytart it at 8AM as that level is low too, and

work up to maybe 15MG which may be huigh enough for you.
