Hi Aly,

I am so sorry to hear about s troubles. It must be awful for her

to be going through this.

My Dr did tell me there was a risk of perferation of the stomach but as

you had never actual spoken to anyone who had this happen .Please send

her my love and wish her well.

On the " GOOD " side of things .Well done on your loss. The trouble with

weighing all the time is that those little 0.8 seem to pop up every now

and then and your quite right when you talk of hormones.

Anyway keep up the good work.

KIM

ps:I think it is important that things like what has hapened with

heather IS posted.Even those new to the list need to be aware of what

can happen both good and bad.So I thank you and for sharing such

a difficult time for her.

The band is a soft, pliable object with absolutely no sharp edges

whatsoever; how could one perforate one's stomach with such an object???

What is the Doc NOT SAYING???

Success=Hope for the Best, Be Prepared for the Rest. Much Luck, Debi

Hi Christie!

Great news about ' test results! You are doing such a great job in

getting him what he needs and setting him up for the future! Wish I had been

that " together " when Josh was his age!

He's an adorable boy! Looks like he may have a career as a linebacker! LOL

Thanks beth, and as I said, I wouldn't be this "together" if it weren't for all of you...I'd have no idea where to start/what to do.

40dB loss is very good for a completely closed off ear. Both of 's

ears are completely closed off, and his loss is 60-65dB.

> ' right ear (severely stenotic) tested at a 45dB loss with the air

This is good. Sounds like you have a good Dr.!

I will always remember when we first got 's BCHA. He would wake up in

his crib (he always woke up happy). We would hold the BCHA on him, and

quietly say " good morning " , his face would light up, and he would get a HUGE

grin on his face. He loved hearing our voices.

How are you planning to hold the BCHA on? We didn't use the metal headband,

although I have heard of others who did use it and it worked fine. We used

a cloth headband (like a sweat band) for a couple of years, and now we don't

use any head band at all. Check out my web page for pictures of these

(http://www.pde.com/~kazemir). If you have any questions, let me know. We

did have to use a metal headband a few times when had a loaner aid.

He found it less comfortable, but by the end of a week or so, he could wear

it for most of the day. With his normal setup, he wears it all day with no

problems, and would sleep with it if we didn't remind him to take it off.

This is great! We had the same thing, but with a speech & language

pathologist. During the visits, we could ask questions, she would suggest

things we could do with , assist in any signs we wanted to know etc.

etc. She would also keep us updated in what is typical for babies/children

to be doing/saying at that age, if there was anything we could work on with

to help him etc. It was very beneficial to have these visits.

Great! Thanks for spreading the word!!

We don't mind at all!! And thanks for the picture! I love hearing from

parents who are excited about their children. Being an advocate for your

hard of hearing child is an ongoing job, and so far you are doing great!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Steve, I have looked at your web page quite a bit and am going to

keep that in mind. I figured for now, while we are all getting used to it,

to have it on the headband. The Dr. mentioned something about a

" huggie " ...not quite sure what exactly that is, I've only found a couple of

websites on it and they didn't really explain things that well. When we get

it I'll take a picture to post...unless I have my website updated by then

and I'll just put it on there.

Hi Georgie, was born February 5th. At his 3-month checkup he was 18 pounds and had grown 6 inches since birth. We go Thursday for his 4-month and I'm anxious to see what he weighs...I'm hoping he slows down soon! We live in NW Ohio, about an hour from Windsor, Canada. I'd love to see a picture of your son!

Take care,

Christie

Hello all!!! I suppose you all thought I'd dropped off the face of

the earth. Well, I have managed to climb back most of the way!

LOL Sorry I've been AWOL for a while but somebody in my family has

had the crud/bronchitis for the past week. The past few days, I

have been down with it so I haven't had the energy to do much of

anything but cough. OK, enough whining, already!

I just wanted to pop in and say " Welcome " to all the

newbies, " WooHoo " to all the losers, I'm hanging in there with you

to those of you struggling, and a BIG " Praise the Lord " that they

caught the Beltway Sniper(s)!!

I have been OP for the past two days (most of my points have been in

the form of juice) but I have decided to be serious and work the

program the way it is supposed to be worked. I don't feel much like

exercising, but I do have a plan for when I feel better (hopefully

the next day or so!). I have also decided to start attending the

meetings again and go on Tuesday mornings when they have a really

great leader. I know, I'm supposed to be at work then, but I will

say I have an appointment on Tuesday mornings and go in late. What

are they going to do....fire me....again??! (FYI- our plant is being

closed on 11/27/02)

I have really missed you guys! Well, it's almost bedtime and I

really need some extra rest so I'll check in tomorrow!

better!!

YEAH for you for rejoining and committing to work the program!!!! That is

fantastic!!! LOL about going on Tuesday mornings and them firinng

you....wouldn't happen even if they weren't closing at the end of November.

I am going to the gym and the jazzercize class this morning, first time in two

weeks. I just haven't had the time with all the classes I have taken and

didn't really feel like it with all the stress stuff going on. Robin told me

yesterday that I really need to go back, since I really enjoyed it. So, I am

going to pay for some more time...probablly still by the month. Oh, Robin is

talking about trying to get the foundation concrete for the exercise room done

in the next couple of weeks...we will see. I hope so! It really will make

things easier.

Take care!!

Great to hear from you ! I'm sorry you have not been feeling way.

Hope you feel better quickly. Congratulations on going back to the

meetings! That is great. Do you have any plans for after the plant

closes?

Update on

Thanks !!! I did go to Jazzercise this morning and the instructor said she

was going to give me a call this week if I didn't show up. I explained that I

had to go to the classes and then life got in the way, and she agreed that does

happen but said we have to make time for ourselves! I plan on going tomorrow to

the gym and then jazzercise again on Friday. Hopefully, I will be able to keep

going this time!

I would definately take advantage of the trial offers and the university gym! I

think you will find that you really enjoy it once you start!

Thanks for being here!!!

Maureen

Thanks, Caren! Do you know what it was that made me decide to go

back to WW meetings? A dentist's appointment! Normally, I am in

and out for a cleaning and exam in no more than 30 minutes. Well,

last week, the cleaning alone took 45 minutes. Now, I have not

changed my oral health routines and the hygenist asked if I had

changed my diet.....duh...been doing a lot of stress eating and what

do I crave when I'm stressing?? Sweets and starches! Wake-up

call! I need to get motivated so that I can wear those 5 pairs of

jeans hanging in my closet that haven't seen daylight in monthes!

So I decided that I just need the extra boost of meetings combined

with this group and my renewed subscription to WW magazine. So,

like you, I'm taking this one OP day at a time! We can do

this....together!
