Guest guest
Okay so you all remember my posting about my Dr's visit where I had to cry for him to do the tests I wanted and how he kept insisting there was no such thing as a RT3 test, etc. I have my results and posted them. My estrogen & testosterone are low so my plan is that I am going to my obgyn on 2/1 so I thought I would bring him my results and have him prescribe me something, instead of the endo. Okay so fast forward to this morning I get an email from the endo dr stating that he faxed in my Armour prescripion but he thinks it needs to be lowered and I should call him. Say WHAT????? If I am not mistaken, no where on my results did it indicate this. Unless he is going only by the TSH (which he normally does). BUT there was a (Low) nex to that also. TSH <0.01 (0.40-4.50) isn't that low too? Dana G
Guest guest
>>TSH <0.01 (0.40-4.50) isn't that low too?<< For a doctor that goes by TSH this indicated hyperthyroid, but to knowledgeable people it does not mean anythign except TSH is low. What were your frees? That is what I wouod insist they go by. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Okay then, this IS what he is going by. I know him. After I posted by results, we thought I should raise by 1/2 a grain, which I did and right now do feel pretty good (I thought. I'm at 2 1/2 grains. But to repost, here they are: FT3 310 (230-420) FT4 1.3 (0.8-1.8) RT3 17 (11-32) Like I said below, my estogren & testosterone was very low. Maybe this is my problem all along no weight loss, hair falling out, not being able to really raise the Armour, etc. Dana > > >>TSH <0.01 (0.40-4.50) isn't that low too?<< > > For a doctor that goes by TSH this indicated hyperthyroid, but to knowledgeable people it does not mean anythign except TSH is low. With LOW sex hormoens and low TSH you need ot have some pituitary testing done, such as aldosterone and renin if alreafy on HC and if not an ATCH Stim. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
These are the 2 tests that I forgot on my list. I am on HC (25 mg weaned from 30 and that is as far as I could get). Since I already went to the Endo, I'll ask my obgyn to do these tests. I think he will do them as I have been going to him forever. I have had pituitary testing in the past to look for a tumor. Nothing showed up. Also I wonder, I only have I ovary. When I was 12 I had an ovarian cyst removed (over 8 lbs!). I wonder if this has effected me? Guest guest
The one ovary shoudl not affect you per the sex hormone testing. It certainly would not cause a low TSH when your thyroid is still low. Aldosterone adn renin might turn up a LOW pituitary funciton problem. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
