Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone who has banded their baby has regretted it?? My daughter is 6.5 mos and we're debating whether or not to put her in a band. Her plagio isn't severe, but it's noticeable. I keep thinking that maybe her hair will grow out and cover it? I just think we might have more regrets if we don't band than if we do. Has anyone wished they wouldn't have banded? I would appreciate any advice you have! Thanks,
Guest guest
Banding my daughter was one of the best decisions we ever made. She was high moderate to severe plagio/brachy. I know in our particuliar case I would have regretted not banding her. I say if you are going to wonder what if, at least check into banding. Have you done any evaluations? This may help you make your decision. Good luck deciding. Angie (Jenna STARgrad and Ky repo) Any Regrets? Hi everyone,I'm wondering if anyone who has banded their baby has regretted it?? Guest guest
Hi ! I have no regrets about banding my daughter. Of course, she does have severe plagio. She has been wearing the helmet since the beginning of February and has had 4 mm of improvement. This brought her asymmetry from 23mm to 19mm. I know this does not seem like much, but it is a big difference when I'm looking at her little head! As most mother's on this site say, I would have felt guilty had I not banded her due to her severity. It sounds vain, but my concerns had to do with kids making fun of her. Or the possibility that she wouldn't be able to wear her hair short if she decided to do so. The biggest thing is that you don't want to regret your decision when there is nothing that can be done. If you are interested to see where your daughter falls, take her for an evaluation. Most places offer them for free. That way, you can see if she's mild, moderate, or severe. I honestly didn't know what catagory my daughter fell into until we got there and they measured, so that may be a useful tool in your decision. Good Luck! If you think you'll have ANY regrets at all, I would band. I should have listened to my gut a year ago when I had the urge to do something about the shape of my son's head. Girls do have the luxury of long hair to cover up their flat spot, but I've heard of some moms who didn't band and they say ponytails can look crooked because of the flat spot. Many moms regret not banding, so again, go with your gut. It's usually right!Good luck!Jake-18m (tort resolved/rt plagio/DocBand 2/11/08)Jordan-4>> Hi everyone,> > I'm wondering if anyone who has banded their baby has regretted it?? > My daughter is 6.5 mos and we're debating whether or not to put her in > a band. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your responses! We took her for an evaluation today and she is not severe. I am afraid we will regret it down the road. I appreciate you taking the time to write back so much! > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I'm wondering if anyone who has banded their baby has regretted > it?? > > My daughter is 6.5 mos and we're debating whether or not to put > her in > > a band. Guest guest
My husband and I have no regrets. Our daughter has been in her band for a little over 3 months and she still has some time to go. It hasn't always been easy and I wished the whole process wouldn't take so long (she is not growing very fast), but we are seeing improvements. She started out with 10 mm asymmetrie, which is the lower end of moderate. Most people told us it would improve on its own and not to worry about it, but I am very glad we banded her. There are several kids in her daycare who were not banded and whose parents were probably also told that it would round out on its own, and it didn't. Several parents have talked to us about the band and told us that they wished they had done something with their babies before it was too late. Looking for last minute shopping deals?
